Indigenous Youth Leadership Program

Working in partnership with Pembroke School, the IYLP is run by The Smith Family, with funding support through the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. The program aims to close the gaps in Indigenous educational disadvantage by creating greater access to additional education choice for Indigenous students, particularly those from remote and extremely remote areas of the country.

As well as helping Indigenous students achieve their educational aspirations, the IYLP strives to develop positive role models and leaders to inspire other Indigenous students.

For information about Indigenous Education at Pembroke, click here.

  • IYLP Scholarships are offered annually, with criteria, application details and due dates announced by The Smith Family.
  • Shortlisted students will be required to attend a personal interview at Pembroke School with the IYLP Manager and Pembroke School’s Director of Indigenous Education.

For enquiries regarding IYLP Scholarships, please contact the IYLP Manager via IYLP@thesmithfamily.com.au or 0435 323 637.

Principal’s Welcome

Principal’s Welcome

Pembroke has a proud heritage reaching back over a century, when girls and young women were educated at Girton Girls’ School and boys and young men at King’s College. More than 50 years ago, these two unique schools combined to form Pembroke, a school that fosters equality of opportunity within a co-educational context, making us stronger together.

Mr Mark Staker – Principal, Pembroke School
