Our Scholarships capture domains such as academics, music and boarding as we support students to find their place.
Scholarship opportunities for 2028 and limited opportunities for 2027 will open for applications in August.
Academic Scholarships – Year 7
Prospective, future and current students may apply for our Academic Scholarships commencing in Year 7, offering up to 100% remission of tuition fees for the duration of the enrolment.
Scholarships recognise students who demonstrate strong academic ability alongside engagement in co-curricular activities, leadership and community contribution.
Eligibility and Application Process
- Students must be in Year 5 in 2026 to apply for 2028 Year 7 Academic Scholarships
- Applications are assessed based on the AAS Scholarship examination, supporting documentation, and for shortlisted candidates, an interview
- Students holding a Student Visa (subclass 500) are welcome to apply, with tuition fee remission applied at domestic student rates

Boarding Scholarships
Pembroke School offers a limited number of Scholarships to Boarding students entering Years 7 to 11.
Applications for our Boarding Scholarships are open to students with a sound academic record of achievement and a readiness to contribute widely to the School’s Co-Curricular Program.

Indigenous Youth Leadership Program
The Indigenous Youth Leadership Program (IYLP) provides Scholarships and leadership opportunities for young Indigenous Australians. It is offered in conjunction with the Indigenous Education at Pembroke (IE@P) program.
Working in partnership with Pembroke School, the IYLP is run by The Smith Family, with funding support through the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet. The program aims to close the gaps in Indigenous educational disadvantage by creating greater access to additional education choice for Indigenous students, particularly those from remote and extremely remote areas of the country.
As well as helping Indigenous students achieve their educational aspirations, the IYLP strives to develop positive role models and leaders to inspire other Indigenous students.

Application Process
- IYLP Scholarships are offered annually, with criteria, application details and due dates announced by The Smith Family.
- Shortlisted students will be required to attend a personal interview at Pembroke School with the IYLP Manager and Pembroke School’s Director of Indigenous Education.

Indulkaninna Foundation Scholarships (Boarding)
These Scholarships are periodically awarded on the basis of need for boarders entering Years 10, 11 or 12, or other year level in exceptional circumstances and pending agreement between the School and donor.
The Indulkaninna Foundation Scholarships have been established in support of Boarding students by a generous Pembroke old scholar family.

Isolated Students’ Scholarships
Applications for these Scholarships are open to boarders entering Years 7 to 10 who meet specific geographical isolation criteria.
Isolated Students’ Scholarships are awarded to students who have a consistent record of sound academic progress and are eager to contribute to the School’s Co-Curricular Program.

Margaret Sellars’ Scholarship
This Scholarship is available periodically for Boarding students from rural or outback primary producing communities entering Years 10, 11 or 12.
Generously endowed by Pembroke Foundation Patron Mrs Margaret Bennett (nee Sellars), this Scholarship offers recipients the opportunity to attend Pembroke as boarders and embark upon a life-shaping educational experience.

Music Scholarships
Pembroke School offers a select number of Music Scholarships to students entering Years 7 to 11.
Our Music Scholarships offer a unique opportunity for students to join a community of passionate musicians and enhance their talents while reaching their academic potential. Applications are open to students who display excellence or significant promise in music.

Scholarship for the Love of Learning in the IB
This Scholarship has been established by a generous and long-standing member of our School community for students wishing to study the IB Diploma who would otherwise be unable to access a Pembroke education.

Bursaries
Principal’s Bursary Fund
The Principal’s Bursary Fund operates wholly at the discretion of the Principal to support families in the short term who are experiencing financial hardship.
Pembroke Old Scholars Association Bursaries
The Pembroke Old Scholars Association provides several part Bursaries for children of old scholars entering the senior years at Pembroke. Bursaries are awarded in the form of a tuition fee remission of a variable amount determined by the Committee.
