Pembroke’s Clubs and Societies feature both breadth and depth, catering to a vast array of interests and passions.

Clubs & Societies

We offer a rich range of opportunities that spark curiosity, develop character and broaden perspectives for every student.

Teddy Bear-Making Program

A standout of our offerings is a treasured tradition unique to Pembroke: our beloved Teddy Bear-Making Program. Students at Pembroke have been making bears for donation since 1987.

Thousands of teddies have been sent all over Australia and around the world to help those in need, including young children involved in vehicle accidents, families devastated by natural disasters and children airlifted by the Royal Flying Doctor Service. It is a truly beautiful co-curricular activity that upholds Pembroke’s commitment to serving others.

Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

Pembroke is one of Australia’s largest school facilitators of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, with up to 700 participants at any one time guided by a dedicated staff leader.

Heritage Languages Program

Pembroke is widely recognised for our incredible Language Programs which extend to our co-curricular offerings. To support students to deepen their knowledge of other languages and connection to cultures from their family background, co-curricular programs are available at certain year levels in Mandarin, Italian, Hindi, Korean and Polish, with plans in development for Greek. Some of these programs are delivered by our partner providers at School of Languages and ABC College. Auslan, Latin and Linguistics may also be selected as co-curricular options in some year levels.

Scout Group

Pembroke has the distinction of being among a select few schools in Australia with a dedicated Scout Group. Our program includes Pembroke Joeys (5 – 8 years old), Pembroke Cubs (8 – 11 years old), Pembroke Scouts (11 – 14 years old) and Pembroke Venturers (14 – 18 years old).
