Opened in 2019 on our Middle School King’s Campus, Shipsters is a three-storey masterpiece for the learners of today and tomorrow.

The building is a world-leading educational setting equipped with cutting-edge tools and resources. It features dozens of unique learning hubs including flexible exhibition and enterprise spaces.

A Hub for Innovation, Creativity and Community

The heart of Shipsters is a mammoth atrium – named Balnaves Place after a treasured donor family – which accommodates lectures, presentations and student group collaboration.

The building is furnished with a plethora of tools and materials for all manner of art creation, industrial and creative technologies, and advanced machinery for wood and metal work.

A key element of Shipsters is welcoming visiting professionals across a broad spectrum of industries, interest groups and organisations to provide real-time insights, demonstrations and feedback to our students. Indeed, Shipsters provides spaces for Artists in Residence to work alongside students and showcase their collective creations.

In addition, the building is harnessed for a variety of our co-curricular activities such as Pembroke’s signature Robotics and Pedal Prix Programs.

This special building stands as a proud reminder of the generosity of our School community whose incredible support helped turn an education dream into a reality.

Words of Wisdom

A school that confines learning to desks and walls forgets that children grow through experience, challenge and shared endeavour.
